Reporting directly to the plant manager, your role will be improving quality, Continuous Improvement, and managed plant project. The facility produces Cable Trays. Edmonton Plant is a Satellite location/team reporting to the authority of Iberville (St-Jean sur Richelieu, Qc) Management. Edmonton Facility (49 000 sq-ft) is a team averaging 26 blues collars and 5 whites collar (Planner, Supervisor, HSE Specialist, Admin, Quality). You will also be reporting directly to the plant manager located in Iberville (Qc) in your role of Quality Control Specialist and be supported by Iberville Quality Team. You will act with safety, efficiency, quality and productivity to ensure that products and systems meet stated requirements. You will employ various test protocols and apply standards to ensure that good quality is maintained and assist in developing test protocols to investigate the integrity of new products, or new functionality for existing products. You will oversee investigating internal/external NCR, external PARR & lead Continuous Improvement actions regarding internal/external audit. You will oversee the quality management system (ISO 9001) and ensure to realize Continuous Improvement project or activities with the employees. You will lead with the team CAPEX project (Machine, Relayout, etc…).

Your responsibilities

  • Driving Continuous Improvement by implementing the Group-wide system, training, the delivery of assistance from the Center of Expertise, and improvement programs
  • Empowering the management team to grasp obligations, liability, and how to fulfil their roles according to law and ABB policy, instructions and standards
  • Ensuring Edmonton Plant is audited according to the Group Assurance & Audit Program Internal/External.
  • Planning and executing related projects, managing resources and reporting on objectives and progress
  • Providing assistance to other functional teams to deploy incoming test protocols and to perform first article inspections.
  • Ensuring that data are available according to ABB Quality & Operations guidelines
  • Working with others to improve test protocols and capability, creating greater efficiency, accuracy and reliability of test outcomes
  • Utilizing Lean 6 Sigma to collect, record, and evaluate quantitative metrics that provide descriptive data for the determination of compliance to requirements
  • Training machine operators in basic quality test routines to aid in quality-at-source processes and verifying quality assurance testing.
  • Lead CAPEX investment projects

Your background

  • 3 to 10 years of experience in a similar field.
  • Engineering Degree.
  • Factory Experience & Manufacturing Processes.
  • Knowledge about 6 sigma & Continuous Improvement.
  • A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Current driving license (valid) & Passport.
