 ROLE TITLE:                  QUALITY CONTROL LAB CO-OP STUDENT

 DEPARTMENT:             QUALITY CONTROL

 REPORTS TO:               SUPERVISOR, QUALITY CONTROL

 HOURS:                         DAY SHIFT 08:00 to 16:30 (MAY to AUGUST)

 

This role will be responsible for generating accurate results while following cGMP requirements. Responsible for analyzing finished products/raw materials/stability samples using various chemical and instrumental techniques in accordance with established compendia and in-house testing methods under minimum supervision.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepared mobile phase, buffer and solutions for dissolution, chromatography and chemistry lab
  • Participate in routine sample analysis for raw material, finished products, in-process, stability, cleaning validation, purified water, environmental sampling using established analytical procedures and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Calibrate, operate, and maintain analytical balances, Karl Fischer and pH meters.
  • Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Participate and work on additional projects as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Participate in occupational health, safety, and wellness.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Current student of College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or related studies. 
  • Understanding of Canadian and US cGMP requirements.
  • Strong computer skills, SAP/GLIMS knowledge is an asset
  • Good theoretical understanding of laboratory instruments.

 

Required competencies/Abilities:

  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
