ROLE TITLE: QUALITY CONTROL LAB CO-OP STUDENT
DEPARTMENT: QUALITY CONTROL
REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR, QUALITY CONTROL
HOURS: DAY SHIFT 08:00 to 16:30 (MAY to AUGUST)
This role will be responsible for generating accurate results while following cGMP requirements. Responsible for analyzing finished products/raw materials/stability samples using various chemical and instrumental techniques in accordance with established compendia and in-house testing methods under minimum supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Prepared mobile phase, buffer and solutions for dissolution, chromatography and chemistry lab
- Participate in routine sample analysis for raw material, finished products, in-process, stability, cleaning validation, purified water, environmental sampling using established analytical procedures and wet chemistry techniques.
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain analytical balances, Karl Fischer and pH meters.
- Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Participate and work on additional projects as assigned by Supervisor.
- Participate in occupational health, safety, and wellness.
Education and Experience:
- Current student of College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or related studies.
- Understanding of Canadian and US cGMP requirements.
- Strong computer skills, SAP/GLIMS knowledge is an asset
- Good theoretical understanding of laboratory instruments.
Required competencies/Abilities:
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills are required.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
