Job Description: The Radiation Therapist II is responsible for preparing, planning and delivering accurate and precise ionizing radiation treatments to cancer patients according to the prescription of a Radiation Oncologist. The Radiation Therapist II reports to the Provincial Leader or Site Manager of Radiation Therapy and supervises and directs Radiation Therapists, students and work processes in an assigned area.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Radiation Therapy
Certification for Basic Life Saver (BLS)-C
Licensed with Saskatchewan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (SAMRT)
Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
Experience
Three (3) years experience as a qualified Radiation Therapist
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to assume responsibility for work over others on a daily basis.
Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Accuracy of fine motor movements required for operating treatment unit controls, tattooing patients, and data entry.
Advanced knowledge in a variety of Radiation Therapy methods and processes including treatment planning, simulation and treatment.
Considerable Judgment and problem solving ability is required to identify, analyze and define problems and select the most appropriate solution to rectify them.
Human relations skills are required to develop formal relationships of a therapeutic nature to assist others in achieving their short or long term goals
Maintain confidentiality.
