HOURS OF WORK: 4x12 hour shifts (2 days, 2 nights)
The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for a permanent RCMP Guard position. Under the direction of the RCMP Municipal Employee Supervisor, Human Resources Manager, Detachment Commander or designate the Guard is responsible for the care and monitoring of prisoners within the cellblock.
The successful applicants will have a Grade 12 education or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills are required for minimal data entry. Standard First Aid Training & CPR training in compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations are also required.

Possession of a valid Security/Reliability Clearance, or the applicant having held a valid Security/Reliability Clearance within the past 5 years, is a requirement for this position. Additionally, applicants must have been residing in Canada for the past five years and hold a permanent resident status at minimum.

The successful applicant must have the ability to perform all duties in a safe manner following established procedures and have the ability to maintain harmonious relationships with all members of the public and other staff members. Physical agility, the ability to complete duties requiring physical effort and a proven ability to provide excellent service to the public are also required.
