Real Estate Controller/Accountant

As a key member of the Management team, the Controller will report to the Owner and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the multiple entities within the company. The Controller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, property management, deal analysis, and financing.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain all accounting records of all entities

· Prepare and finalize the financials in the monthly/quarterly close process

· Participate and assist in the review of the monthly and quarterly external financial reports

· Oversee annual CAM reconciliation and response to tenant inquiries

· Supervise debt compliance and lender reporting; construction loan and escrow draws

· Annual operating budget preparation

· Supervise and maintain effective financial and internal controls; Intercompany reconciliation between various entities (monthly and annual)

· Oversight of the general ledger, fixed assets, collections, accounts payable and cash management

· Review bank reconciliations for all companies; and/or reconcile bank accounts

· Prepare consolidated financial statements including cash flow statement and investor statements as needed

· Ensure all business licenses are up to date

· Supervise and review all daily/weekly/monthly and quarterly internal reporting (A/R, A/P)

· Bid property and liability insurance renewals and present to Senior Management for approval

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as Controller in Real Estate or other related fields is preferred
• Must be accountant with experience in Real Estate.
• Preferable CPA
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with Quickbooks a must
• Experience with Propertyware preferred
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented, strong follow-up skills
• Team player
• Ability to multi-task efficiently
