Bookkeeping Assistant
Under the direction of the Finance/Office Manager, will assist with:
- the maintenance of deposits, billing, general accounts receivable/accounts payable, Receiver General information etc.
- OFLS payroll using Sage Accounting payroll and Bookkeeping system and performing general bookkeeping duties for OFLS programs.
- the preparation of monthly financial and statistical reports for OFLS and all related programs under the direction/umbrella of OFLS
- provision and interpretation of financial information.
Reception
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, will assist with:
- Provide personal and telephone reception to clients, employers, and community service providers.
- Book appointments for clients wishing to meet with their Employment Consultant.
- Orientate individuals to OFLS programs, services, and resources.
- Use knowledge of community resources to encourage participation in both external and internal referrals to services when the need is identified.
- Identify when individuals have barriers to employment and refer them to an Employment Consultant for appropriate programs and services.
- Responsible for morning set up and general office and equipment preparation (nightly lock up of sensitive information)
- Participate in safety and security checks, team building and program planning activities.
- Participate in additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Grade 12 with basic accounting training and/or experience, and a desire to learn
· Knowledge of basic office and accounting procedures
· Excellent written & verbal communication skills
· Good keyboarding skills and ability to use Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook
· Ability to perform basic bookkeeping functions
· Ability to use own initiative and judgment.
· Ability to operate related office equipment.
· Must be discreet and maintain a high level of confidentiality
· Excellent customer service skills with the ability to diffuse difficult situations
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 21 – 28 per week
