A little bit about Dot Furniture
We're a proudly Canadian owned and operated retail company that's been in the business over 25 years. We specialize in patio and indoor furnishings and have been leaders in the industry pioneering new designs and ideas for outdoor spaces since 1996. We consider ourselves big-little company, at any given time we can have between 15-20 locations and a head office/distribution center located in Mississauga, while still being family owned and operated.
Dot Furniutre is growing and we are looking for our newest team member to be the face of our main office as receptionist and assistant to our accounting team. This is a full-time, permanent role with the consistent working hours of Mondays - Fridays 8am-5pm.
Core responsibilities
- Answering and redirecting calls, taking messages and following up where possible
- Maintaining safe and clean reception area and kitchen
- Handling courier and mail administration
- Buying and ordering stores/office/kitchen supplies, packing and sending supplies to stores on request
- Organizing and verifying store receipts/z-reports/bank settlement reports
- Working on A/R: and preparing Sales Journal Entry
- Working with A/P: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing
- Overall accounting help with G/L account reconciliation, month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Handling any other administrative or clerical tasks as required

Who we're looking for
Applicants should have at least a year in relevant work experience in accounting and/or customer service to apply. Previous experience with the following programs is strongly recommended: MS Dynamics GP, Quickbooks and MS office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Individuals who are highly motivated with a positive attitude and great attention to detail, organizational skills and time management skills will excel.
