Job description

We are a staffing agency that provides temporary and permanent staffing solutions to various clients in the hospitality industry. We are currently hiring a Recruiter/Staffing Coordinator to work for one of our clients located around the Muskoka area.

Position Summary:

The Recruiter/Staffing Coordinator position involves posting positions, reviewing resumes of prospective hires and screening job applicants. A successful candidate is a people person and has no trouble communicating with others in a friendly but professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the nature of the job position, the criteria, qualifications, and requirements of the customers.
  • Sourcing of candidates to fill temporary, contract and permanent positions.
  • Preparing and posting job vacancies descriptions on applicable websites.
  • Supporting the recruitment function by screening, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
  • Performing searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using a database, networking, as well as referrals.
  • On-going pro-active communication with candidate base.
  • Stimulate development of customer relationships.
  • Networking with the candidate base to continue to develop new leads.
  • Ensure consistency among internal software program and database.
  • Prepare situational training for recruiters from real-life experience to ensure staff and clients are serviced with the highest level of customer service.
  • Visiting staff or clients when new staff begin to greet and give them the keys to their room.
  • Conducting weekly room checks.
  • Deal with any staff concerns (e.g., pay, accommodation, performance etc.).
  • Give new staff an orientation.
  • Work closely with office recruiting team to fulfill staffing requests.

Reports to Account Manager and Lead Recruiter. The Account Manager will guide and give directions according to the client’s needs.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Background or strong understanding of hospitality, hotel or resorts.
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills.
  • Sound judgement when problem solving.
  • Organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and complete daily tasks.

Must have a driver’s license and a vehicle to drive from client to client.

Ability to commute/relocate: Muskoka Area: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
