Recruiting Assistant

Acadian Seaplants Limited is seeking a Recruiting Assistant based in Central Newfoundland.

The Recruiting Assistant works jointly with the Resource Management and People & Culture teams to ensure the company has a full complement of Seaweed Harvesters in both Nova Scotia & New Brunswick. The Recruiting Assistant champions the company brand throughout various parts of Newfoundland and promotes the opportunity to work as a Seaweed Harvester with Acadian Seaplants Ltd.

This role is a 6-month contract position with possibility for extension based on business needs.

Your Role:

In this role you will:

• Distribute promotional materials.
• Coordinate, host, and attend events as required.
• Promote the opportunity to work as a Seaweed Harvester with Acadian Seaplants Ltd.
• Assist in identifying key areas for recruitment.
• Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups to find qualified candidates.

Requirements:

• Relationship building skills and strong communicator
• Able to work in a result-focused environment
• Independent and self-driven
• Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
• Knowledge and experience working in the fisheries industry
• Driver’s license and reliable form of transportation
• In-province travel required frequently
