Purpose: As a Recruiting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Recruiting/ HR team in maintaining the candidate pipeline. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.
Reports to: This position reports to the Recruiting Supervisor
Responsibilities
· Coordinate hiring activities
· Undertake clerical duties (e.g. answering emails and drafting offer letters)
· Help with resume screening and initial phone screens
· Process background checks
· Maintain candidate database
· Completing Reference checks
· Handle records and paperwork
· Resolve issues as fast as possible (e.g. interview cancellations)
· Assist with new hire onboarding (e.g. preparing documents, coordinating orientation agendas)
· Proven experience as a Recruitment Assistant or other recruiting-related role

Qualifications
· Familiarity with hiring practices and stages (screening, interview, assessment, onboarding)
· Experience in the Trucking/Logistics Industry.
· Experience using recruiting software and social networks for recruiting. Experience using Truckright would be an asset.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Great attention to detail
· Outstanding communication skills
· Problem-solving ability
· A degree or diploma in HR would be an asset.
