Recruitment Associate - Access & Inclusion

Located in the heart of the Niagara Region – just minutes from one of the world’s most well-known tourism destinations – Niagara College offers more than 130 innovative programs between our campuses in Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Applications are invited for the temporary part-time position of Recruitment Associate – Access and Inclusion at Niagara College at the Welland Campus. The starting salary is $26.26 /hr for a 24 hour work week. Additional hours may be required at peak times during the year such as start or end of term. This is a temporary position and is set to commence May 2024 to December 2024.

Reporting to the Project Supervisor, Access and Inclusion, the successful candidate will generate awareness and interest in Niagara College from prospective students and their influencers. The incumbent will assist in recruitment and engagement activities through online activity and where available at schools or through live in person events. The successful candidate will work within multiple funded projects to increase awareness of Niagara Colleges programs and services concentrating on underrepresented groups such as crown ward youth, young women as well as indigenous groups.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Promote Niagara College and provide information and guidance to assist prospective students in choosing a post-secondary institution.
• Acting as a lead generator and often qualifier through our online and in person activities, the Recruitment Associate is often the first point of contact for prospective students at Community or High School based events.
• Effectively convey the Niagara College brand.
• Identify and contact potential students for recruitment opportunities. Schedule daily prospective student appointments and deliver or assist with the delivery of a variety of presentations and sessions
• Update Customer Relationship Management (CRM) with contact details and interest information from prospective students
• Foster and develop increased awareness of Niagara College and relationships with various audiences such as prospective students, guidance and employment counsellors, teachers, and parents to promote Niagara College as the college of choice for post-secondary education
• Attends and, at times, coordinates presence at events, such as conferences, tradeshows, and community engagement fairs.
• Organizes and executes virtual information sessions with a variety of stakeholders
• Collaborate in a cross functional team setting
• Be available to travel for up to a week at a time.

Qualifications:

• 2 Year diploma in Business, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Humanities, Social Sciences or similar field of study
• A credential from Niagara College and/or demonstrated knowledge and passion for the Ontario College system will be looked favourably upon
• Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management system will be seen as an asset
• Frontline sales and marketing experience an asset
• A comprehensive knowledge of secondary school and post-secondary school markets will be viewed as an asset
• Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and ability to manage priorities
• Strong oral and written communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends
• Must have a valid driver’s licence with a clean driver's abstract.

We also provide a balance of on-campus and remote work through our recently introduced Remote Work Policy. As a place-based organization all positions will involve some degree of on campus work.
