We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our TELUS team to perform mechanical maintenance services. These services are critical to building environmental control systems and equipment, which require strict adherence to Provincial and Federal standards and regulations. You will also participate in shift work rotation, on call rotation and need to be available for both scheduled and emergency after hours support.

Technical
- You will maintain and repair critical Data Center and administrative building HVAC systems.
- Work closely with Electrical and Plumbing trades on coordinating and supporting maintenance tasks and understanding all building systems for emergency response while on call.
- You will perform acceptance testing on new equipment for operation, sequencing, control operation, alarm verification, environmental and safety compliance scheduled system/equipment maintenance checks.
- Respond to TELUS Network Operations Center callouts to diagnose and repair alarm situations.
- Contact suppliers to order parts/supplies or local tradesmen to hire their services.
- Discuss/explain details of troubles and find appropriate resolutions.
- Provide & update details on the work completed.
- Assist with preparing and submitting methods of procedure (MOPs) for work that poses a risk to critical systems.
- Track equipment deficiencies until they are resolved
- Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and work order system to log notes
- Carry out semi-annual leak testing on refrigerant systems and complete all applicable ODS paperwork including reporting any leaks detected to TELUS Environment and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
- Prepare expense reports.
- Critical data centre and administration systems repairs, maintenance, and improvements are completed with the least possible impact to customer reliability.
- All alarm situations are responded to and all work is completed in a timely manner.
- All reports (time, expense, maintenance etc) are prepared accurately.
- Ensure acceptance testing is complete and meets all required standards.

Qualifications
You're the missing piece of the puzzle:
- Refrigeration Trade Qualification or 4th year Refrigeration Apprentice
- Experience working on chilled water systems
- Experience with using Building Management Systems (BMS/DDC)
- Knowledge of life safety systems (Fire alarm, Fire Sprinkler, and HSSD Gas detection equipment).
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays, based on business needs.
- You will need to participate in rotating on call periods
- You live in Kamloops or close enough to the city to respond to callouts in a timely manner
- Able to use hand held power tools, test equipment and operate a personal computer.
- You are able to work on ladders and lifts.
- Normal colour vision to work with colour-coded wiring.
- Able to handle a physically demanding workload.
- Able and willing to work in various weather conditions.
- Positive oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ambitious, work well with minimal or no direct supervision.
- Able to identify problems and situations, take appropriate action, implement solutions or engage leadership as required.
- You will be working effectively in a close-knit team environment with strong collaboration amongst other departments.
- Able to maintain a high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints and a dynamic changing environment.
- Able to meet applicable testing requirements and have a dedication to continuous learning.
- Valid ODS (Ozone depleting substance) endorsements
- Valid RE Electrical certificates required by location would be useful
