Job Title: Refrigeration Technician
Division: Property Maintenance & Engineering
Department: Property Maintenance
Responsible To: Director of Engineering
Role Summary
A fantastic opportunity to join an iconic resort nestled on the rugged Atlantic coastline with a stunning stretch of beach on Nova Scotia`s South Shore. White Point Beach Resort has been welcoming families, friends, couples and year-round groups for over 90 years. We are hiring for the newly created position of a Refrigeration Technician. This position will work closely with the Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities
· Perform Energy management audits across the resort
· Be fluent in HVAC control and sequence of operation
· Must be competent with computers
· Valid Refrigeration License.
· Valid G license with a clean driver abstract.
· Gas License an asset
· Work effectively independently or with a team
· Must have a strong attention to detail
· Must be able to trouble shoot/problem solve
· At least 3 years Refrigeration
· Gas fitter license G2 optional
· WHMIS Trained
· Knowledge of Refrigeration/HVAC control systems
· This is a Full-time, Permanent position,
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Red Seal Refrigeration Certification and or license as an HVAC technician
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Occupational Health & Safety
- Ensure the company is compliant with legislative and industry Occupational Health and Safety requirements by researching, developing, consulting and recommending appropriate strategies and procedures.
- Ensure safety topics are being discussed during weekly and monthly toolbox meetings
Operational Policy
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, while nurturing a fair and respectful workplace
- Maintain work practices and policies policies that align with industry best practices and mitigate risks
Requirements, Skills & Experience:
- Must be able to work onsite
- Must be an excellent communicator, ability to analyze complex situations whilst being impartial when using problem-solving skills
- Must have a high level of integrity, ethics, professionalism as well as being detail orientated.
- Excellent time management

Working Conditions
- Schedule to be discussed during the interview process, ability to work evenings, weekends.
- Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling
