Position Summary


The Regional Primary Care Project Manager has overall regional responsibility for the planning, executing and monitoring of the First Nation Led Primary Care Projects. This role collaborates with the community leadership, community health leaders/managers, Provincial Primary Health Care Project Manager, and others across the FNHA and throughout the BC health and wellness system, to define projects in terms of scope and objectives, develops detailed work plans and provides weekly project status updates. The role is expected to anticipate and identify project issues and risks, develop options and recommend solutions, and work with senior management to implement solutions.

As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages regional First Nation Led Primary Care Projects from initiation including the development of business cases to post implementation reviews
  • Communicates and manages project expectations to cross-organization team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Oversees project resource planning, allocation and management to achieve project goals
  • Conducts full project life cycle planning, monitoring, control and documentation including, but not limited to, development and delivery of progress reports, issue, risk and decision management and escalation, creation of project deliverables such as project charters, project management plan, work break-down structure (WBS), status reports, presentations, and project turn-over documents
  • Coaches, mentors, motivates and supervises project team members and contractors, and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Participates in selection, training, developing, coaching, mentoring, motivating and supervising project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work; provides input/recommendations on performance assessment, recognition and rewards
  • Creates, executes and manages Change Management throughout a number of simultaneous projects through their life cycles
  • Manages project budgets and resources and ensures that program expenditures are maintained within established limits and FNHA policy, process and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience•
  • Qualification in project management or equivalent
  • PMP designation is an asset
  • Change Management certification is an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Significant, recent and relevant experience in Project Management in Health Care (usually acquired over a period of 8-10 years)
  • Experience in people, risk and change management
  • Experience in strategic planning
  • Experience working with project management software
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record and related applications is an asset
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management methodology and best practices as defined by PMI
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of change management techniques and tools
