Location
Work will primarily take place at North Campus Edmonton. This role is in-person.

Working for the Department/Faculty
The School of Dentistry Oral Health Clinic (OHC) located on the 8th Floor of the Kaye Edmonton Clinic provides oral health care services
Position
Under the supervision of the Operations & Clinical Supervisor, the Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs) are multi skilled professionals who perform clinical procedures within their scope of practice through assignment and delegation of duties and responsibilities dependent on the area/unit they are assigned to. The position will be a Recurring term position from approximately September to mid-July annually with a pro-rated salary.
Duties
The Registered Dental Assistant may be assigned to any of the clinics within the School of Dentistry. The duties includes but not limited to:
- Assist / mentor students, residents and instructors during patients treatment
- Prepare dental operatories for dental care delivery
- Perform intra-oral skills within their scope of pratice
- Report any equipment issues or missing equipment to the equipment technician (Emaint)
- Responsible for daily / weekly general cleanliness of the clinic operatories
- Reports all clinical issues to the clinics supervisors
- Utilizes EHS protocols/procedures such as WHIMIS and chemical spills guidelines as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate from an accredited Dental Assisting Program or NDAEB Certification
- Current registration with CADA, CDAA along with a local association license
- Current CPR: Health Care Provider Level C certification; Knowledge of WHIMS
- Two year of previous RDA experience
- Knowledge of dental materials management, dental instrumentation and dental equipment
- Demonstrated skill in establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and perform tasks accurately with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Excellent communications skills (written and oral)
