Job description
The infusion Registered Nurse provides specialized infusion and injection treatments as well as other nursing services to patients with autoimmune and rare diseases in our outpatient clinic. Effective coordination and communications play an essential role in serving patients, caregivers and our clients. This position provides patients and health care providers with education and ongoing support for the illnesses and treatments they manage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer medications (IV, IM and SC) in our specialized clinic
- Monitor post-infusion/injection treatments, and write reports on all activities according to program protocol guidelines
- Provide patient education according to program protocols
- Be available to meet appointment scheduling needs in an efficient and cost effective manner to give patients quick access to necessary therapies; this means that an infusion nurse may be required, and agrees to work on Saturdays and evenings when scheduled.
- Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, and pharmacies to meet established deadlines for scheduling appointments, treatment planning and information sharing
- Respect professional nursing standards as mandated by professional associations and the company
- Perform other related duties and tasks as required
