We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our team as the Team Lead for Health Records Management. As a leader in the healthcare industry, we prioritize accuracy, efficiency, and the highest standards of patient information management.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Team Lead will work collaboratively with the members of the Health Records Department who are responsible for maintaining and organizing HEALTH RECORDS, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing processes to enhance overall efficiency. The Team Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of Health Records at both Four Counties and Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor policies and procedures related to HEALTH RECORDS management to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices, coding guidelines, and emerging trends in health information management.
- Collaborate with IT professionals to optimize the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient data management.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and identify opportunities for improvement in HEALTH RECORDS management processes.
- Report and share stats with key stakeholders
- Knowledge of basic analytical techniques.
- Strong passion for health information and the utilization of health record information in a quality framework.
- Strong understanding of hospital funding methodologies, weighted cases, QBP’s pay for results and wait-times.

Qualifications
- Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and proof of 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
- Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
- Graduate of a recognized Health Information Management Diploma program
- Certified member with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
- Three (3) to five (5) years of Health Records Experience within the healthcare sector required.
- Knowledge and experience with ICD-10
- Knowledge of privacy and related legislation as it applies to Release of Information required
- Knowledge of chart documentation and requirements for legal releases
- Knowledge of hospital and medical staff rules and regulations, provincial statutes and Accreditation Canada required organizational practices as they related to Health Records Information Management.
- Experience with Cerner would be an asset.
