Job description

We are recruiting for a Regulatory Project Manager to join the Environment & Development Team at Mowi Canada East Inc. This position has flexible work locations in Atlantic Canada. The Mowi Environmental team play a key role in regulatory compliance, business growth and the environmental sustainability of our operations. MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES

As a Regulatory Project Manager specializing in Aquaculture, you will hold a pivotal role within our organization, working closely with the Development and Environmental Compliance Director to navigate government processes for development. Your responsibilities will encompass managing licensing projects for new and expanding sites, facilitating document preparation, coordinating public engagement sessions, and ensuring seamless internal communication and stakeholder engagement throughout project lifecycles.

They will include:

  • Management of licensing projects for new and expanding sites.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation including project scoping, environmental impact assessments, government applications, and internal briefings for company management. Ensure accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and participate in public engagement sessions related to site development. Engage with local communities, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to address concerns and gather feedback.
  • Organize and facilitate internal meetings to maintain project timelines and ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged as projects progress.
  • Participation in industry/government committees and working groups.
  • Assisting in implementation of corporate standards.
  • Provide support to other members of the Environment and Development Team as required. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to achieve team goals.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive regulatory and/or consultant experience in the aquaculture industry.
  • Strong understanding of provincial and federal regulatory process for aquaculture in Atlantic Canada.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Analytical and intuitive thinking style.
  • High level of motivation, energy, and a desire to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Currently eligible to work in Canada.
