You will be a member of the above group, which is responsible for:
The design and asset management of diesel generation stations located in remote fly-in off-grid communities in Northern Ontario. The design and development of work packages for the construction of projects at these stations.
Your job duties may include:
-Mechanical or Electrical Design (modifications to correct issues with existing fuel systems, ventilation systems, etc)
-Gathering information and overseeing our applications for new provincial environmental approvals for air and noise emissions
-Adding equipment information to our station 3D scans and using the scans to get measurements and other information for projects
-Drafting (small drafting jobs to assist with development of work packages)
-Studies including written reports (potential topics include; review of station rating methodology, ways to improve station efficiency, etc)
-Project Management (management of smaller projects and/or providing assistance to other project managers)
-Gathering historical data from our SCADA system and manipulating it in Excel to help make planning decisions
-Assist with specifying and ordering components
-Working closely with both mechanical and electrical engineering personnel
This job will provide you with the following professional development:
Exposure to utility generation including electrical concepts, application of mechanical/electrical engineering education, development of report writing and research skills, investigation and interpretation of codes/regulations
Job Requirements:
-Discipline: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
-Academic Level: Completed 3rd year Engineering
-Other requirements: Strong report writing and research skills, AutoCAD exposure
Additional Job Conditions:
List any other additional conditions (i.e. Travel involved etc.)
- Flying in small single engine aircraft
- Up to 1-2 trips per month to remote communities with Remotes’ staff (mostly day trips, occasionally overnight)
