Career Opportunity

NanoVation Therapeutics (NTx) is looking for a collaborative and solution focused Research Associate, Preclinical, to join our team.

Reporting to the Scientist II, Preclinical, the Research Associate, Preclinical will work closely with the Preclinical Team and will be responsible for executing in vivo research focusing on flow cytometry in support of our research goals and plans.

Our ideal candidate has multicolour flow cytometry experience, is a strong communicator, and thrives on contributing collaboratively in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Preclinical Research

  • Executes in vivo research in support of our research goals and plans; internal and external projects.
  • Assists with downstream processing of in vivo samples for flow cytometry and performs flow acquisition, as well as DNA, RNA and protein extraction for luminescence/fluorescence measurements, qPCR and other immunological assays as needed.
  • Alone or in collaboration, designs, executes, and troubleshoots preclinical activities in support of characterization and performance testing of pharmaceutical formulations in vivo.
  • Generates, analyzes, tabulates data and results, writes/reviews reports and provides recommendations.
  • Follows SOPs; generates and maintains thorough and accurate documentation.
  • Meets established deadlines.
  • Openly communicates challenges and proposes solutions.
  • Assists with ordering, inventory tracking, and logistics.
  • Additional responsibilities, as required.

Project Teamwork

  • Supports and troubleshoots project teamwork.
  • Provides technical support to other project teams.
  • Supports the planning and execution of internal project plans.
  • Prepares and reviews study reports and technical presentations for internal use and for clients.
  • Collaborates and interacts with other groups/departments in the organization on related projects to develop, characterize and test formulations, as requested.

Innovation

  • Assists in conducting relevant scientific literature searches for designing new experiments.Supports the establishment of new capabilities based on literature review and supervisor input.
  • Identifies novel research opportunities.
  • Assists in patent idea generation and writing.

Mentors Team Members

  • Supports team members through mentoring and providing guidance on assigned projects.
  • Supports and encourages the personal and professional growth and development of team members.

What you bring and build upon as a member of our team:

  • MSc in Immunology, Cell Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a Life Sciences discipline, and 3+ years of industry experience or the equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in a broad range of preclinical methodologies including the use of nanoparticles in experimental in vivo systems, development of novel assays and methods to assess nanoparticle function,and assessment of nanoparticle efficacy and toxicity in vivo.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and ability to prioritize.Experience building strong working relationships and third-party vendors.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral: Communicates with respectful, honest, open, and objective communication.

What we offer

Your compensation package will include many components including:
