Translational Research Scientist Position – VCH, Division of Nephrology
VCH is seeking applications for a full time Research Scientist with interest in translational research in native kidney diseases to work in the Division of Nephrology in the area of -omics, computational science, physiology, or immunology. The clinicians and researchers within the Division of Nephrology are seeking to develop platforms to enhance current diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic tools focused on the area of native kidney diseases.
The successful candidate must have a PhD degree, at least 3 years of research experience in a Nephrology related area, and a proven record of academic achievement and peer reviewed publications. They will work within a robust infrastructure of clinicians and researchers with access to clinical information, biosamples and laboratory services. The candidate will be expected to develop and lead an innovative, independent research program.
The Division has expertise in glomerulonephritis, CKD, PCKD, dialysis, transplantation and immunology. Resources for wet and dry lab space can be negotiated depending on needs with the aim of leveraging existing infrastructures at VCH, as well provincial data and biosamples.
The successful applicant may be eligible for partner track appointment at UBC, within the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and institutional policies.
