Residential Counsellors are instrumental in assisting our residents in leading full and productive lives by diligently attending to their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, medical, and financial needs. Job Requirements:
- A diploma or degree in Health and Community Studies / Community Social Services or experience caring for individuals with multiple disabilities
- Clear Police Records Check for Vulnerable Sector
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
- English (fluent – understand, speak and write)
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and ability to be insured
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Experience providing personal care for individuals with a developmental disability, physical disability, and or dual diagnosis
- Written communication skills to complete forms and reports
- Effective conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Practice in medication administration
- Experience working with Behavioural Support Plans and outside clinical supports
- Ability to wake quickly and respond to resident needs whenever required
