Description
The Manager works on a hands-on basis with the participants as required and provides guidance and support to Support Workers on a daily basis. The manager is responsible for designing resident care plans, activity schedules, and programs along with senior staff, and sees that they are implemented as directed. The manager is also responsible for overseeing all administration in the assigned homes.
The ideal candidate will have:
-Post-secondary accreditation in a related field plus two years of experience in a non-profit agency offering services in Community Homes and Day Programs, or equivalency
-Training in Gentle Teaching and Professional Assault Response Training or equivalent
-Strong leadership skills with new, innovative ideas
-Excellent communication skills and be a confident public speaker, as well as a professional representative of our agency
-Flexibility for change, growth and expansion
-Team Leadership skills, previous supervisory experience, coaching skills, and some human resource management skills are an asset
-Previous experience in the development and delivery of programming and administration in community homes and programs
-Superior problem-solving skills
-Proven ability to develop and manage a budget
-Working knowledge of autism and the community of agencies providing services to individuals with autism and their families is an asset
-Basic computer skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
-A valid driver's licence.
This is a 40 hour/week position. Flexibility in work hours is required. The manager will be required to join the on-call rotation with the CHAP management team and work collaboratively with the group to ensure the needs of everyone in the program are met.
