Marmalade Boutique is a new home goods and gift boutique in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, offering shoppers curated, exclusive products for memory-making and gift-giving, with many of our products being sourced by Atlantic makers and women-led businesses. Marmalade is located right in the heart of St. Andrew’s shopping district with year-round store hours, and participation in quintessential St. Andrews events. Job Description for Permanent Part-time Marmalade Staff:
We seek a highly motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will provide exceptional customer service, promote and sell products, and ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers. If you have a passion for connecting with others, enjoy working in a retail environment, and want to be part of the community we are growing around this new home goods and giftware shop in St. Andrews we want to hear from you.
This will be a year-round, part-time position, with a minimum of 8 hours per week during the slow season and as many as 24 hours during peak season in St. Andrews. We encourage all ages to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist them in finding the right products
- Provide product knowledge and answer any questions or concerns
- Cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits
- Process transactions accurately through a cash register or point-of-sale system
- Process and package online sales orders
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Assist with inventory management and restocking shelves
- Collaborate with team members to create fun events and achieve sales targets
- Provide exceptional customer service by resolving any issues or complaints
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Retail Sales or customer service is an asset
- Strong communication skills in English—multilingual skills are a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple customers simultaneously during peak times
- Basic technical sales knowledge to assist customers with electronic devices or gadgets
- Cashiering experience is an asset
- Interest in home decor, gift-giving, and merry-making is an asset
- Strong problem-solving skills to address customer inquiries or concerns promptly
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
