Urban Nature Store is seeking a part-time Team Member for our Kingston store located at 645 Gardiners Road.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 1 year of retail or service related experience (Pet, birding or garden sector experience would be an asset)
• An interest in wild birding
• Strong retail merchandising skills
• Open availability - Days, evenings & weekends.
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Basic math skills as it relates to Retail Sales
• Intermediate computer skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to lift 50 lbs bags
• Have a reliable means of transportation to and from the store
• Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will be responsible for:

• interacting with customers and providing superior customer service, including recommending appropriate products and demonstrating their proper usage.
• processing transactions on a computerized POS system
• accepting all forms of payments (cash, debit, credit)
• processing returns and exchanges
• assisting with the maintenance of several Google spreadsheets
• promotion of our loyalty rewards program
• receiving bi-weekly shipments
• filling seed from master to smaller bags
• maintaining a clean, organized and well-merchandised store

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: From $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
