As a Front-of-House Service team member at Sumaq Iraqi Charcoal Grill, you will be an essential part of creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will provide friendly and attentive service, ensuring that guests feel welcome and well-cared for throughout their visit. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, has strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and Seat Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive, assist with seating arrangements, and escort them to their tables in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Provide Menu Information: Present menus to guests, offer recommendations, and provide detailed information about menu items, specials, and promotions.
- Take Orders: Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring that special requests and dietary restrictions are communicated to the kitchen staff.
- Serve Food and Beverages: Deliver food and beverages to guests' tables promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain Table Settings: Set up dining tables with appropriate utensils, napkins, and condiments, and ensure that tables are clean and well-maintained throughout service.
- Check on Guests: Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, address any issues or concerns, and offer additional assistance as needed.
- Process Payments: Process payments accurately and efficiently, handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment, and provide guests with receipts and change as necessary.
- Assist with Cleaning and Closing Duties: Assist with bussing tables, clearing dishes, and resetting tables for the next guests. Help with cleaning duties and closing tasks to ensure that the restaurant is clean and prepared for the next service.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient service. Communicate effectively and support each other to meet guests' needs and exceed their expectations.
- Adhere to Health and Safety Standards: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area, and comply with health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Positive attitude, team player mentality, and willingness to go above and beyond to provide exceptional service.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and processing orders accurately.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one.
