Job Summary
As part of the Equinix Global Risk and Security organization, which also includes Business Continuity and Corporate Security, Risk Management is a small team with a global reach responsible for managing the company’s global property and liability insurance programs.
The Risk Management and Insurance Analyst provides a core support function for development, maintenance, and placement of global insurance programs. Responsibilities include research, gathering relevant information and analyzing data to identify issues and propose solutions.
Responsibilities
Risk Transfer and Analysis
Manage process and information flow across multiple functions globally for insurance renewals and internal and external audit requests
Evaluate systems to streamline data collection and identify process improvement opportunities
Assist with the research and evaluation of insurance coverage and risk transfer matters
Coordinate with insurers and brokers on insurance due diligence for mergers and acquisitions
Process certificate of insurance requests
Contract Review
Support the development and implementation of Equinix standard contract language for supplier contracts and construction agreements
Assist with review of insurance clauses for supplier contracts to ensure the transfer of risk based on exposure
Help foster better understanding of Risk Management and contractual insurance requirements through development of training and awareness campaigns
Accounting/Budget
Manage supplier set up, PO creation and invoice processing in global payment system
Reconcile broker premium invoices against bound policies, process invoices and maintain regular payment tracking
Reconcile department monthly insurance accounts
Department Communication & Planning
Assist with development and maintenance of all components of department intranet website, including enhanced self-service capabilities
Maintain updates to Risk Management manuals and information used in quarterly reports
Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders related to insurance matters
Become SME for any department technology tools implemented to compile renewal and claims data as well as associated reporting
Claims Management
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g brokers and Insurance adjusters) on the reporting and tracking of global claims data
Create quarterly/annual claims reports and analyze data for trends and mitigation opportunities
Organize annual and quarterly reviews with brokers and/or insurance carriers to analyze claims and Insurance issues as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Risk Management, Finance, or equivalent field of study
2-5 years of working experience with an insurance broker, insurer or Risk Management department, including related internships
A strong technical understanding of liability insurance with experience negotiating best terms and conditions in third party contractual insurance requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and interpersonal skills, precise attention to detail and strong commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Superior systems capabilities including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive), Sharepoint, and Smartsheets
Experience in construction or real estate Risk Management encouraged
Fluency in additional languages encouraged
