Roads and Transportation - Summer Student
Environmental Services
4 Month Term approx. May 2, 2024 - September 2, 2024
Applications must be received no later than Thursday March 7, 2024.
The City hires Post-Secondary students for the summer season to assist with various road maintenance functions.
- Qualified applicants must have attended the previous school year full time and will be returning to the next school term full time. Proof MAY be required.
- Students working for the Roads and Transportation Service Area must have a valid Ontario Driver’s license with a class G2.
- Pavement marking
- Sign installation
- Cold patch and hot mix repairs
- Grass trimming, sod repairs
- Sidewalk and interlocking brick repairs
- Traffic island cleanup
- Bus shelter cleaning
- Other duties as assigned
- 40 hours
- May include nights/shifts
Please note: Successful hires will be required to attend Corporate Orientation on Thursday May 2, 2024 and start Friday May 3, 2024.
- Please note - former employees (temporary, casual, students etc) returning to employment within a two (2) year period are only required to receive a criminal record search every 2 years. If this is the case such employees will be required to complete and sign a “criminal offense declaration form.” See updated Criminal Record Search Policy for further information.
