Description
The Ministry of Highways is hiring a term, Roadside Development Technician with the Traffic Engineering and Development team in Saskatoon. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will review and process applications for subdivisions, Roadside Developments, approaches, utility crossings, pipelines, seismic, and treaty land entitlement submissions.
In this position, you will apply Ministry standards and best practices related to roadside management to applications for new developments within or adjacent to provincial highways. You will utilize information such as legal plans, maps, surveys, and plans of proposed subdivisions in your work. You will also review applications and issue permits for public and private utilities adjacent to provincial and public highways. This will include the ability to interpret construction drawings for utilities and information in applicable agreements, legislation, and regulations. You will also assist with the design of custom signs on an as-needed basis.
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained by completing an applied science diploma and/or several years of relevant experience. The position requires knowledge and skills required include:
