Room Attendant

The Housekeeping team is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the guest bedrooms and public areas. This is an excellent front-line position for someone looking to start a career in the hotel industry.

POSITION DETAILS:

Shifts: Most shifts are day shifts; it does involve working weekends and holidays.

Hours: 28 to 40 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Clean assigned guest rooms daily to hotel standard

· Exceed the expectations of all guests (both internal and external) through empowerment and by responding attentively, efficiently, and politely to all requests.

· Help create a positive work environment through teamwork and cooperation with peers and team leaders.

· Actively participate in monthly departmental communication meetings.

· Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire Safety training, and working in a safe manner.

· Friendly and enthusiastic individual with a neat, professional appearance.

· Be able to work independently to complete a daily assignment of guest rooms.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Demonstrates exceptional guest service skills with a passion to continually anticipate and exceed guest expectations.

· Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills as well as a keen eye for detail are essential.

· Able to organize job tasks efficiently, be thorough and exact with details, provide quality guest service, and work with minimal supervision.

· Reliable and flexible to work varied shifts

· Must be capable of handling a physically demanding workload, including lifting, pushing carts and standing for long periods of time

· Reliable individual; flexible to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

· A team player; able to communicate effectively
