Title : Spotter/ General labour
Location: YRWMC MRF – 100 Garfield Wright Blvd, Sharon, On L0G 1V0
Pay Rate: $19.56 per hour
Start Time: 4:00pm- 1:00am Monday-Thursday, occasional Friday and Saturday work
**Our location is not accessible by public transit, must have access to own vehicle**
Responsibilities:
- Complete understanding of the required Hand Signals for spotting vehicles.
- Must be able to hook up trailers to the compactors
- Ensure that the entire grounds of the facility (inside/outside) are clean and organized at all times
- Inspect and remove obvious contamination from loads
- Ensure you aware of and always work within MWS’s safety guidelines
- Seasonal property maintenance (i.e. snow shovelling, sweeping, litter cleanup)
- Perform and conduct daily pre-operational checks on equipment/machinery
- Comply with ISO procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and all Health and Safety Regulations and Policies
- Inspecting the workplace for any hazardous and/or potentially hazardous conditions
- Liaise with supervisors, drivers, haulers, contractors and Regional staff in a professional and team-oriented manner
- You will be required to fill-in and/or assist other positions as required for any vacation or sick calls, and all other called upon responsibilities
- Must have good organizational and team building skills
- Must be punctual
- Ensure that all work is performed safely, cost effectively and in a timely manner
- Ensure Personal Protective Equipment is worn
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Previous experience operating a Front-End Loader, Compactor, Skid Steer will be preferential but not required.
- Successful candidates will have a good understanding of hand and spotting signals.
- In this position you will be required to stand for long periods of time and be exposed to the different weather elements.
- You must be a team player and function safely around heavy equipment.
- General safe working habits are necessary. Heavy lifting is required.
- You may be required to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays so your own transportation is an asset.
