Job Summary
The Sales Enablement Manager, Instructional Design, will be responsible for assessing, designing and developing enablement and training solutions that provide foundational and advanced knowledge, industry expertise and sales and technical skills for direct sales, channel sales, customer support and partner readiness.
The individual in this role will work with the field, business stakeholders and subject-matter experts to define enablement objectives. They will then use these insights and requirements to develop content and build learning solutions that are sales-relevant, channel-relevant, practical and scalable.
This is someone who is passionate about working in the field, effective at building relationships, and adept at synthesizing large amounts of complex information to make it simple and actionable.
This position is an individual contributor role that is based in Dallas or Toronto and will report to the Sr. Manager, Sales Enablement.
Responsibilities
Engage the field and business stakeholders to identify knowledge, skill and systems enablement requirements for direct sales, channel sales channel partners and customer care
Leverage information gained through needs analysis to recommend, design, develop and implement the appropriate enablement and training solutions, including online learning, instructor led training, virtual training, job aids, instructional videos, audio/video scripts and role play exercises
Collaborate with SMEs to develop and review training material
Develop knowledge assessments and certification exams and programs to measure student learning and application
Measure and assess the effectiveness of enablement and training solutions to inform future program requirements and identify areas where additional learning and reinforcement are required
Actively review and evaluate the enablement and training solutions library to determine when content needs to be updated, replaced or retired
Conduct internal and channel training pilots, as well as train-the-trainer sessions, as needed
Constantly seek to evolve and refine the enablement and training solutions strategy
Conduct postmortems on existing courses by reviewing survey responses, test/quiz scores, and engagement data
Qualifications
7+ years' experience scoping, planning, designing, developing, and implementing effective sales and channel enablement and training solutions
Experience working directly with direct and channels sales groups, as well as customer care, to identify knowledge gaps
Experience creating enablement content for many varied roles in large enterprises for both technical & non-technical audiences
Ability to clearly identify success metrics for enablement and training solutions
Consultative approach and proven track record of effective collaboration at all levels of an organization
Successful application of the Kirkpatrick 4 (if not fully, how many levels did you succeed?), with experience adhering to Blooms Taxonomy when creating curricula, while using the ADDIE or SAM methodology
Ability to work in and manage ambiguity in a fast-paced technology company
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong program management skills
Experience using rapid content development tools such as Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, SnagIt, podcast and micro-learning platforms
Proactive, self- directed and results-focused
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience
