Basic Purpose:
The Regional Sales Manager will seek and negotiate new business opportunities in the following markets: Extended Stay, Corporate Individual Travel, Association, Small Group Meetings and other specialty markets. The Regional Sales Manager works as part of the Sales, Marketing and Events team to achieve revenue goals. This position liaises with all hotel departments to ensure consistent high-level service is delivered to each guest.
Major Responsibilities and Duties (to fulfill major purpose):
Prospect and seek out new business, particularly meetings with rooms and extended stay for 5+ nights.
- Negotiate & prepare sales proposals and contract, understanding legal terms and conditions.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales revenue and activity quotas.
- Effectively manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs.
- Manage existing client relationships while seeking new business for the hotel.
- Strategize, plan, and execute local blitzes, trade shows, and/or client events.
- Review sales & marketing action plan and coordinate activities connected with key market segments.
- Provide input and ideas towards marketing and sales strategies.
- Effectively prospect and solicit repeat and future group business and individual travel business.
- Assist with budget allocation and input into business plans.
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels; able to respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
- Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results related to Sales with Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.
- Attend pre-event meetings as needed to understand group needs.
- Accurately forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue for groups.
- Attend networking and local community events acting as an ambassador for the hotel.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
· Sets a positive example for guest relations.
· Effective sales skills to secure new business and up-sell products and services.
· Proven interpersonal, time management, organizational and presentation skills, with a high level of detail-orientation.
· Strong working knowledge of the sales process, including prospecting, telemarketing & outside sales calls.
· Knowledge of Front Office/Reservation/Sales procedures.
· Good presentation skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong problem-solving skills.
· Flexible and energetic with ability to work well in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office working conditions.
- Lifting of supplies, material/collateral. From time to time the position will require long periods of standing.
- Some weekend, evening or holiday hours will be required.
- Intermittent business travel will be required.
Experience, Training and Education (demonstrating requirements):
· 2-3 years prior sales experience in a hotel environment.
· Post-secondary education in hospitality sales/marketing.
· Ability to use standard software applications, such as Microsoft Office, and hotel systems – Delphi.
· Knowledge of Event Service Operations.

Salary: $50,000.00-$53,000.00 per year
