A cornerstone of the art scene in Canmore, the Avens Gallery has been connecting our community to artist and their art for over 37 years. Located on Main Street, Avens represents over 40 Western Canadian artists, showcasing original art in a variety of mediums – acrylic and oil paintings, mixed media, and sculpture in bronze, soapstone, metal, and stone.

We are seeking a Sales/Art Consultant to join our gallery team, a candidate that is passionate about art, energetic, and takes pride in providing an exceptional client experience to everyone that walks through our door. You are professional, well-spoken and have a desire to engage with clients, and share stories about the art and the artists.

As a Sales/Art Consultant, your primary responsibilities will be:

• Creating a welcoming environment & providing excellent customer service
• Comfortably interacting and engaging with all clients
• Converting conversations into sales
• Working as a team to reach our goals
• Tracking and managing inventory
• Follow up with new customers and existing collectors
• Hanging artwork
• Packing and preparing art for shipment
• Work collaboratively with other employees to provide support on a wide range of administrative tasks and daily operations

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 2-3 years previous work experience in sales
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Solid computer skills and comfortable using a variety of software programs
• Available to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends and holidays
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 21 – 30 per week

• sales: 3 years (required)
• Customer service: 3 years (preferred)
