Established in 1954, Bee Maid Honey Limited is the marketing arm of the Alberta Honey Producers Co-operative Limited and the Manitoba Cooperative Honey Producers. Honey produced by beekeepers in Western Canada is processed and packaged at plants in Winnipeg, MB and Spruce Grove, AB. Bee Maid not only produces premium honey but also operates retail outlets in Spruce Grove, Winnipeg, and Tisdale, SK.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Bee Maid Honey Limited is looking to hire a part-time Sample Retriever to join our team. Reporting to the Corporate Food Safety and Compliance Manager, the Sample Retriever will compile honey samples for the Lab Technician. Regular hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7:30am to 12:30pm. Term will run from April 15, 2024 to July 15, 2024.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gather sample specimens when honey is received.
• Provide samples to the Lab Technician for testing.
• Assisting Lab Technician with other lab related tasks when required.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in food processing considered an asset.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Moderate repetitive lifting (up to 25 lbs)
