ABOUT OUR OPERATION
Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Site Service Supervisor, the Utility Person is part of the Energy & Infrastructure department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Your Next Challenge:
- Assistance with site activities, such as:
- loading and unloading
- fueling
- preparation and transportation of the luggage
- water delivery
- Snow removal;
- Domestic and other garbage pickup;
- Operating mobile equipment such as telehandler, service loader, backhoe, tandem truck and water truck;
- Attending and participating in the safety meetings;
- Verifying the adequate procedure(s) to follow before taking action;
- Any other duties as required by the supervisor.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Nunavut driver’s license class 5 or equivalent;
- Telehandler & vacuum truck operation experience;
- Experience operating other equipment an asset (tandem truck, service loader, articulated truck, roller packer);
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Mining experience is an asset;
- Willingness to work outdoors and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team;
- Possess an adequate physical condition;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Candidates will be required to attain a passing grade on a SPEEXX English language assessment.
