Job description

Sandblast - minimum 3 years experience. Start by protecting specific areas of the work surface using cardboard, wood, tape, and/or rubber. Sandblasters are responsible for lifting, carrying, and setting up heavy equipment and parts onto racks. Part of the sandblaster’s job is the maintenance of the sandblasting equipment, such as cleaning and changing nozzles.

The sandblaster’s duties require physical stamina, comfort handling heavy and potentially dangerous machinery, and great attention to detail.Other essential skills include:

  • Mechanical aptitude – the ability to comply with instructions in written, oral, and schedule form is essential. Sandblasters must read and comprehend manuals, inspection checklists, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and other work-related information
  • Physical fitness – sandblasters must be able to hear coworkers, see up close and far away, perceive color and depth, and have the ability to focus. Sandblasters may be required to stand or walk on uneven ground and ascend and descend ladders, all of which requires stamina and endurance
  • Compliance with safety procures – as part of an organization’s safety program, sandblasters are expected to complete an annual training program and pass safety examinations and all required assessments
  • Interpersonal skills – the ability to clearly, professionally, and effectively communicate with their supervisor and coworkers is necessary for success
  • Flexibility – a sandblaster is required to work at night. At times, they may be asked to cross-train or work in other areas.

Paint - minimum 3 years experience. Preparing and protecting delicate surfaces for paint. Mixing coating with specialized measuring and mixing tools according manufacturers specifications. Painter will use a variety of techniques and tools to paint surfaces. They may use spray equipment, stencils, rollers or brushes. Industrial painter must choose the best tool for the job at hand. They will paint on primers, pre-finishes and finishing coats. Use special safety equipment such as air fed masks is a must. Industrial Painter must clean up the area after they have finished a job. They must carefully follow all guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste. Industrial Painter is responsible for maintenance of their painting equipment.

The following is required:

  • Experience in automotive or industrial equipment painting
  • Experience wet painting using a gun
  • Ability to differentiate between colors
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees
  • Strong communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
