Job Overview
The Sanitation Technician will report to the Production Supervisor and will be responsible for carrying out all assigned production related tasks, including but not limited to all facility sanitation activities, room turn over sanitation, equipment sanitation, active grow room and production room sanitation as well as documentation for sanitation activities. The Sanitation technician will be responsible for assisting with sanitation validations. The Sanitation technician will carry out SNDLs policies procedures and contribute towards the goal of achieving production targets within set timelines.

Shift Pattern
Sunday-Thursday (7am - 4pm)
Scope of Role
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) for all production activities during cannabis growing and processing, at all times, to produce consistent quality cannabis products
- Assist with training of production staff on cleaning procedures
- Maintain sanitation areas and cleaning tools
- Perform sanitation of both active and empty grow rooms
- Perform all tasks related to facility Sanitation, including cleaning and sanitation of tools, equipment, rooms.
- Perform documentation of cleaning activities as per SOPs and assist with validation of new cleaning agents
- Ensure GPP, GACP and GMP guidelines are adhered to
- Responsible for sanitation of equipment and production areas
- Collaborate with department associates in all facility areas to improve process performance and safety
- Demonstrate professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Department Supervisor and Manager
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized science program considered an asset, not required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of commercial sanitation experience is an asset
- Knowledge of large-scale commercial sanitation and cleaning agents

- Physical aptitude necessary to perform tasks required
- Ability to possess or successfully obtain Health Canada’s Security Clearance under the Cannabis Act is an asset
Physical Requirements
- Physical aptitude necessary to perform tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to: standing, walking, bending/reaching (repetitive), pushing/pulling (up to 300 lbs), lifting (up to 40 lbs) and squatting
- Ability to work in environments with elevated temperature and humidity, up to 30 degrees Celsius and 75% humidity
- Ability to work in environments with variable lighting (from very bright to very dark)
- Ability to work for an 8-hour shift period wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to full-face or half mask respirators, medical gloves, safety eyewear and face masks
- Ability to regularly work with cleaning products including, but not limited to Synergex, Whisper, Isopropyl Alcohol
- This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to cannabis, plant pollen or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure.
