Position Summary:
The Sanitation Worker will be responsible for performing all cleaning and sanitizing of the equipment, machines and surrounding areas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize the plant surrounding areas and all equipment, machine on a daily basis
• Maintain and upkeep sanitation equipment and utensils including personal equipment
• Work with different cleaning chemicals, detergents and sanitizers
• Operate a CIP system and configurations (i.e. hose, pipe and spray ball connections)
• Ensure basic cleaning functions of filling machines
• Operate equipment such as scissor lift and power washer
• Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting and bending for extended periods of time
• Follow instructions and procedures for cleaning and sanitizing while adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines
• Must be available for night shift and routinely work on the weekend (Saturdays or Sundays)
• Flexible with hours of work
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Education, Experience & Competency Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent, and previous experience in the food/beverage industry
• Food safety and sanitation knowledge
• Must have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient ability to speak, read, write and take direction in English
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP and SQF principles is preferred
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in order to meet deadlines
• Able to work in a fast-paced work environment and have good attention to detail
• Must be flexible to work dayshift, afternoon shift and weekends
• Ability to work well with other people and as a team player.
