Job description

The Sr. Communications Consultant selected will work within a multi-disciplined Organizational Change Management team to develop communications products aligned with the implementation of FLS across three sectors including Health (NSH & IWK), Education, and the Province of Nova Scotia. As part of the process, the Sr. Communications Consultant will develop webpages, newsletters, infographics, videos, key messaging, document standards, communications plans for key project activities such as testing, training, cutover, hyper care etc.

Responsibilities
The Sr. Communications Consultant is responsible for the planning, design, development, delivery, and evaluation of communications required to support the deployment of various project deliverables, project events and to provide on-going updates and information to project stakeholders.
Key activities include the following:
  • Supports the SAP MP Change Management & Communications Project Lead in planning, design, development, delivery, and evaluation of communications required to support various program deliverables and events.
  • Supports the planning and development of Program communications deliverables, campaigns, and work products, identifying requirements, trends.
  • Supports the delivery of the program communications plan.
  • Develops a deep understanding of Program communications needs and translation of those needs into a tactical communications plan and associated communications products.
  • Develops communications products and conducts activities in accordance with best practices, templates, standards, guidelines, and protocols, ensuring alignment with the SAP MP OCM Strategy to support a unified approach and user experience.
  • Provides communications support and partners with the OCM Leadership & Governance, Functional Change Management & Communications and Training Teams.
  • Supports the development ongoing management of the communication approval processes.
  • Participates in the development and delivery of Program feedback mechanisms, organizing and facilitating 2-way communication with program team and business stakeholders.
  • Manages and maintains SAP MP external websites.
  • Monitors and maintains SAP MP standards and branding.
  • Develops key messaging for multiple audiences.
  • Designs communications products based on program and business needs e.g., infographics, PowerPoints, newsletters, FAQs, surveys etc.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
The consultant must fulfill the following qualifications:
o Minimum 5 years’ experience as a communications Consultant and/or Specialist on an ERP project and/or technology implementation.
o Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences using a variety of communications methods.
o Strong MS Office suite experience e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
o Certified in and/or qualified to use communications design software e.g., Adobe Creative.
o Excellent communication skills - listening, written, and oral.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in a public sector environment.
o Experience providing communications and engagement support on an SAP Project.
o Demonstrated ability to proactively plan and execute work.
o Must be able to work as a team member and work independently.
Summary
The Consultant’s role is to work closely with the designated lead(s) to complete and report on the deliverables as assigned. In addition, the responsibilities of the Consultant include:
  • Providing the Change Management & Communications Project Lead with:
  • Work Plans.
  • Regular status reports.
  • Issues to be addressed.
  • Risks to be managed / mitigated.
  • Adhering to SAPSM Division policies and procedures.
