SCAFFOLD PLANNER:
ABOUT BROCK::
The Brock Group is a leading provider of industrial specialty services to clients around the world, with headquarters in Houston, TX, and operating units in Canada, the United States, and Latin America. With the Canadian head office in Edmonton, the company supports routine maintenance, turnarounds, and industrial capital projects by providing services including scaffolding and work access, insulation, fireproofing, and asbestos abatement, for general maintenance, construction, turnarounds, and shutdowns to western Canadian producers.
SUMMARY::
A Scaffold planner is responsible for planning, building and situating the temporary work structures that provide other workers with safe, secure access to places where they work while eliminating potential health and safety risk.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS::
  • College degree or at least five years craft knowledge in scaffolding is required.
    • Experience in using tools for planning scaffolding structures is an asset.
    • Sound knowledge and practical experience drawing multiple types and systems of scaffolding.
    • Knowledge of Scaffolding General Requirements, & Scaffolding Code of Practice 2009 (OH&S Regulations) an asset.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to problem solve, organize, and prioritize to deliver within a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional and concise communication in written and oral form
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace and diverse environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS::
  • Proficient in using electronic tools to help safely plan and manage scaffold work and identify ways to protect people.
  • Production of all relevant documentation in adherence with company procedures.
  • Travel to operational sites for surveys and meetings.
  • Consulting with company managers, supervisors and foremen, as well as clients.
  • Provision of guidance, advice and technical support to management and supervisors
  • Maintaining scaffold drawings registers for all sites.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Interpret and understand client requirements.
