Creative Kids Education Centre (CKEC) offers toddler, preschool and School Age programs with a multi-level, multi-age, hands-on, play-based approach. The environment, activities, programs and interactions are a whole that shape the School Age community.
Working with School Age children in a licensed Centre with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Suitable for a professional with experience in the fields of Education, Early Childhood Education (School Age), or Recreation. School Age classification or willingness to obtain; ECE Level 1, 2 or 3.
Security and Safety: Criminal record check with vulnerable sector, Child abuse registry check, first aid with child CPR.
To implement and create fun, hands-on, relevant programs where participants actively participate to foster a love of inquiry and creativity in a well-equipped facility with acres of natural outdoor spaces.
Understand principles of group dynamics, Schedule activities, keep logs, maintain records and prepare reports, Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, Assemble supplies,
Monitor recreational activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required.
Build on existing programming to engage the interest and participation of children. Ensure active participation, accessibility and developmentally appropriate programming.
After School programs support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, Provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of technology, dramatic play, music and physical activity, Follow established guidelines for behaviour, Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children, Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with senior staff members.
Excellent written communication, Excellent oral communication, Dependability, Interpersonal awareness, Effective interpersonal skills, Reliability, Good Judgement, Values and ethics, Team player, Flexibility. Demonstrated ability to work with children and youth in a teaching/leadership capacity. Ability and willingness to learn. Self-starter.
Work environment is indoors (air conditioned/heated) and outdoors in a natural, outdoor play space setting.
Own transportation is required to drive to and from work as bus system is not suitable for work hours.
Hours: 37.5 - 40 hours per week; part time hours available (over 5 days)

Salary: $16.00-$25.25 per hour
