Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the physical setting up and breaking down of the function room equipment, tables, chairs, etc. and the safe handling and storage of all food and beverage equipment and the refresh of the outlet and banquet rooms according to sales contract and company standards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 Previous experience as a banquet porter in a similar environment

 Responsible beverage certification preferred.

 Smart serve required.

 Valid drivers license required, with clean abstract, and must be 25 years or older to be insurable for cube van

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

 Wine opener, computer system, calculator, vacuum, hot plates, coffee and espresso machines, juice machines, credit card reference checking systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Long hours sometimes required.

 Heavy Work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

 Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

 Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

 Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.

 Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.  Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.

OTHER ABILITIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:

 Good wine knowledge helpful.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL:

 Setup and tear down of all meeting rooms, registration desks, and bars.

 Setup of all cookouts and outside functions.

 Responsible for proper transporting, setup, and storage of equipment (chairs, tables, stage etc.)

MARGINAL:

 Keep dining area / workstations and workstations clean at all times.

 Other duties as required.

Salary: $14.75 per hour
