REPORTS TO: Food and Beverage Supervisor
POSITION: Junior Server
JOB SUMMARY: The responsibility of a Junior Server is to assist in providing professional and friendly food and beverage service to our guests.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: The Junior Server must ensure that guests feel welcome and comfortable;
They must ensure that guests are served in a quick, efficient and courteous manner consistent with hotel procedures
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Previous experience as a food and beverage Junior Server/ busser or host in a similar environment
· Responsible beverage certification preferred.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
· Wine opener, computer system, calculator, vacuum, hot plates, coffee and espresso machines, juice machines, credit card reference checking systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Long hours are sometimes required.
· Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
· Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
· Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
· Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
· Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
· Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
OTHER ABILITIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:
· Knowledge of sanitation policies required.
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
ESSENTIAL:
· Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
· Responsible for assisting servers in bussing, resetting, cleaning and maintaining all restaurant activities.
· Efficiently run food and beverage to tables in a timely manner
· Ensure customers are satisfied with their dining experience and report any comments or concerns they have to the Food & Beverage Supervisor/Manager
· Process guest checks in a timely and efficient manner when needed
· Have full knowledge of entire menu, as well as daily specials, desserts, etc..
· Keep an accurate record of all checks and reconcile cash with total sales at the end of shift.
· Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper business attire and nametag when working.
· Comply at all times with Hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
MARGINAL:
· Keep dining area / workstations and In Room Dining workstations clean at all times.
· Clear all trays from guestroom floors and service areas.
· Other duties as required.

Contract length: 4-6 months
