Job description

Position Title:Seasonal Maintenance (Labourer, Grounds Maintenance, Summer)
Department: Operations
Reports to: Director, Operations
JOB START: May 6, 2024
JOB END: August 23, 2023
Must be available Monday to Friday. Must be available ALL weeks.

Job Summary: This individual maintains the property and facilities, during the non-winter season.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Required to perform any outside maintenance that is needed.
  • Required to maintain the interior and exterior of the building (painting, washing, and repairing where needed).
  • Responsible for maintaining the landscaping and hardscaping around the property, including bush work (example: removal of vines, buckthorn and other invasive species).
  • Required to maintain the grass cutting and trimming around the property.
  • Responsible for the emptying of garbage cans and recycling around the property.
  • Required to help out in other departments as needed determined by the demand of operations.
  • Required to assist with the maintenance of ski lift parts.
Key Qualifications:
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Previous experience working with equipment an asset, and a comfort using small tools, small and large machines (example: loppers, shovels, rakes, axes, lawn mower, trimmer, riding lawn mower, gator, wood chipper).
  • Previous landscaping and hardscaping experience is an asset.
  • Possess a valid ‘G’ driver’s license.
  • Able to repeatedly lift 20.4 kg (45lbs) comfortably.
  • Able to communicate verbally in a clear and concise manner.
  • Able to complete all necessary logs and documentation relevant to the role.
  • Able to complete other physically demanding duties as required.

  • Ability to work weekends and weeknights and on occasion be available to cover shifts.
  • You have, or can use our Human Resource platform to obtain, the following certificates: WHMIS 2015, Ladder Safety Training, Ontario Health & Safety Awareness Training (OHSA), Workplace Violence & Harassment Training (Bill 168 & 132) and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Training.
  • Provide your own uniform in compliance with our uniform policy. Summer employees will provide their own clothing and footwear. The uniform will be comprised of steel toed work boots with a minimum cuff height to cover the ankle, pants/shorts (with a minimum 5” inseam, with no logos or markings), and a shirt/layering pieces (no logos or markings), for warmth or element protection. If you select to wear a hat it may be any colour and free of any logos or markings. You may be expected to wear full leg covering for certain aspects of your role and will be notified of such. You will be expected to be in uniform for ALL training and scheduled shifts.
