Security Guard - Cargo Screener - Montreal Airport

For this position in the Airport candidate must meet the minimum requirements below and as stated in the application questions:

• Must be a PR/Canadian Citizen to gain Airport security clearance*
• RAIC holders/Airport Screening experience will be given preference
• Must have a strong command of English or French language (written and verbal)
• Must have a valid Provincial Security License (BSP)
• Must have a valid Emergency First aid and CPR certification.
• Possess access to a vehicle for transportation ( considered an asset )
• Must be willing to work Day or Night Shift

****Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible for this position as you must be able to get a RAIC certification issued by the Airport if you don't already possess one.****

Job Code: Cargo Security Screening - Montreal International Airport (YUL)

Location: Montreal, Quebec

Compensation package: $19.50 / hour (starting)

Duties:

• Successful candidates will need to have a valid Quebec Security Guard license, as well as a clear criminal record and be able to pass extensive background screening
• Successful Candidates must be willing to work 8-12 hr night shifts, weekdays, weekends and holidays. Candidates must have reliable transportation to get to and from the airport site as public transit is not available for all shift times. Candidates must be willing to perform a variety of duties including: sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time; complete detailed incident reports; respond to alarms, threats and other emergencies; provide customer service; provide access control to restricted areas
• For advancement opportunities stay will be required to manipulate up to 50 lbs at a time as required by positional legislation and be able to pass colour blindness tests to ensure suitability to operate cargo screening equipment required for performing inspections on unsecured cargo

Skills Required:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills while being alert and detail oriented
• Ability to exercise vigilance and multi task is required (Ability to prioritize, remain calm and multi-task under pressure in a dynamic environment)
• Proficient in using technology
• Experience in proper search techniques.
• Ability to effectively generate all relevant shift reports and distribute in a timely manner
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English

The Ideal Candidate:

• Quebec Security Guard license
• BSP License
• Clear Criminal Record

• Must be able to obtain Restricted Area Clearance (RAIC)
• Effective Written and Verbal Communication Skills
• Must be able to move, shift, manipulate, 35kg at a time
• Must be able to stand, sit, walk, patrol for extended periods of time ( 8-12 hours)
• Must be comfortable with working in both outdoors and indoors
• Must be able to work night shifts ( nights, weekends, holidays )
