Site: St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital

Status: Full Time

Hours: Shift Rotation – 12 hours Days & Nights

Pay Rate: $ 21.42/hour

We presently have a job opportunity for the position of Shift Supervisor to serve St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.

We are

conducting an internal search for a Shift Supervisor. Prerequisites for this position include education and hospital experience with a preference for experience at St Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication skills with good to excellent computer abilities are all core requirements.

The position will maintain a 12-hour continental schedule but will be required to cover the Site Coordinator’s position in their absence and subject to changing rotations when business needs require.

Job responsibilities will include:

· All regular security guard duties & responsibilities

· Assist with Scheduling when requested

· Monitor & Coach Guard Performance

· Liaison between Guards and Coordinator

· Primary Trainer for new guards

· Meet regularly with Security Coordinator to review Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

· Liaising with various STEGH management members

· Assisting with creating and/or updating SOP’s when required

· On Call Rotation with Site Coordinator

Essential Job Functions:

· Be courteous and cooperative with a high quality of customer service.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.

· Must be able to communicate clearly with clinical staff, and the general public while conveying professionalism and authority at all times.

· Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

· Write clear, concise, and legible reports.

· Communicates any concerns/issues with Site Coordinator.

Requirements:

· Diploma in Police Foundations/Protection, Security & Investigations or equivalent from a recognized College, University or equivalent ie: military, police college or hospital security guard experience

· Use of Force Certification

· CPR and First Aid certificates -Standard First Aid & CPR Level C

· Valid Ontario Security Guard License

Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check

Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement:

1. First Aid & CPR – Level C

2. Management of Aggressive Behavior

3. Use of Force

4. Report Writing

5. N95 Mask Fit Test

6. Additional courses as assigne

Certification Requirements (All)

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
