Position Title:Senior Actuarial Production Associate, Individual

Reports To:Director, Policy Tax and Inforce
Department:Individual Financial Reporting
Term:​Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

​​The Opportunity: ​​ We are searching for an industrious and self-motivated individual to join our Individual Actuarial Production team as a Senior Actuarial Production Associate. This individual should have a strong process improvement mindset, continually seek out ways to improve efficiency and possess exceptional customer service skills.

In this role, you will join a team that supports our Individual Life Operations team with handling policyholder requests, oversees Individual Life policyholder taxation and maintains the integrity of policyholder tax administration systems and inforce illustration systems.


What you will be doing:

  • Determine and initiate appropriate actions on issues related to both internal and client generated requests for inforce policies
  • Maintain the integrity of administration systems, operational processes and procedures, and inforce illustration systems with respect to policyholder tax calculations and legislation for all Individual Life and Health products
  • Review the processes that the Individual Actuarial Production team performs
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the processes
  • Provide policyholder tax related subject matter expertise
  • Prepare policyholder tax related communications for both internal and external clients
  • Assist with year-end tax reporting
  • Support quarter end and annual business plan activities, as needed

What you will bring:

  • Career ASA or ACIA (not pursuing further actuarial exams)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation, collaboration and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel including VBA
  • Solid knowledge of SQL
  • Solid knowledge of a coding language (e.g. Python, C, C++)
  • Knowledge of Automation Suite Tools (e.g. Pyautogui, Selenium) is an asset
  • Knowledge of individual life and health products is an asset
  • Knowledge of Moody's Analytics (GGY) AXIS software is an asset
  • Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks and deadlines for various stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Focus on providing excellent service to internal and external clients, with good communication and interpersonal skills
