$88,000 - $124,000 yearly salary

The Corix team has an opportunity for a SeniorAnalyst, Corporate Development Vancouver, BC -Hybrid. Under the direction of the Manager, Corporate Development, this position is involved in various aspects of the Corporate Development processes, including strategic planning, mergers & acquisitions, greenfield development processes, due diligence and related financial modelling, market analysis, strategic capital investment initiatives, and special projects. As part of a new Corporate Development team focusing on our District Energy business, this individual will have tangible impacts on the long-term success of the team and the whole organization at large.

What you'll do

  • Supports complex strategic projects, engages and facilitates cross-functional business teams and business units, and communicates and supports Senior Management and the Executive in driving the development of the corporate vision, strategy, and long-term strategic priorities.
  • Supports the Business Units Business Development growth strategy, Corporate Development team and Senior Management through quantitative analysis and risk assessment for acquisitions and business development projects, competitive analysis (business and financial).
  • Develops, reviews, and maintains financial models and forecasts (including the Company's corporate financial model) to support and advise on acquisition or project investment decisions as well as corporate planning and regulatory filings.
  • Participates in cash, debt and equity management processes including credit facilities, debentures, commercial paper, debt compliance, interest and dividend payments and disbursements.
  • Support and financial analysis for investment opportunities.
  • Works with line business leaders to develop strategies and scenario analysis for growth and investment strategies.
  • Research, monitor and evaluate the competitive landscape and new opportunities in the DE sector.
  • Participates in negotiations, working with the legal, finance staff and other key staff to assess and accommodate requirements and finalize formal agreements.
  • Provides initiative analysis in support of Company's portfolio of strategic opportunities.
  • Leads or participates in the due diligence activities and integration planning/execution.
  • Prepares valuation models in support of fair value, goodwill and impairment analysis.
  • May provide assistance with the company's treasury functions.

What you bring

Experience

  • Have a minimum of 4-5 years' related experience

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields such as Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or Mathematics

Nice to Have

  • Preferably with a professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, CFA or CBV) or an MBA degree
  • Previous utility or energy experience preferred but not a must

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced financial modelling skills (DCF, LBO, valuation, cash flow, comparables, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge on financial analysis
  • Proven time management and project management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure to consistently deliver high-quality work within timelines
  • Strongly efficient in Excel and other related programs
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements with utility financing
