What is the opportunity?
As part of the RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) Operations team, you will be responsible for the upkeep of all RBC GAM's applications. You will be responsible for timely incident resolution and change implementation. You will also get involved directly or request coordination of resources from other technical teams in the group.
What will you do?
System Expertise:
You'll be the system whisperer, supporting trading platforms' system software. Web servers, application servers, middleware components—you'll navigate them with precision.
Proprietary System Mastery:
Your working knowledge of our proprietary systems and processes is your compass. You'll monitor, analyze, and interpret system notices, ensuring every process hums harmoniously.
Issue Resolution Dynamo:
When glitches arise, you're the troubleshooting maestro. Analyzing, coordinating, planning—you orchestrate solutions that address issues effectively. Your resolve is unwavering.
SRE Practices Champion:
Resilience is your mantra. You'll embrace Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, fortifying our systems. Calibrating efforts toward business goals? Consider it your mission.
Timely Issue Management:
Assigned issues won't linger on your watch. You'll follow up diligently, ensuring timely resolutions. Escalations? When necessary, you'll wield them like a seasoned tactician.
Job Scheduler Administrator:
Application jobs? You're their conductor. Through job schedulers, you'll orchestrate their routines flawlessly.
Collaboration with Development Team:
When escalated to L3 support, you'll collaborate closely with the development team. Issues won't merely be addressed; they'll be closed to completion, including root cause analysis.
Operations Compliance Guardian:
Policies and procedures? You uphold them with rigor. Security and audit? Your watchful eye ensures compliance.
Project Implementation Support:
During project rollouts, you'll provide technical support, ensuring seamless transitions.

What do you need to succeed?
3+ years' experience working in a production support role
Knowledge and experience supporting .Net, Java applications in traditional and modern containerized applications.
Participated in rotating 7 x 24 on-call support
Knowledge of SQL, Splunk, Kubernetes, VMs
Understanding of best practices in security
Understanding of or experience in asset management a plus.
Post-Secondary Education or a combination of industry training and
Nice to Have
2+ years' L3 experience
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
Experience working with scalable containerized systems in the public cloud (OCP and GKE/GCP).
ITIL experience
